To take my two kids (5 and 4) away with my brother and sister (14 and 16) and also my husband?

I'm open to staycations if they are within 3 hours of the North East of England (terrible car traveller)

Unfortunately the only time we have off together is the week of the 5th of August!!

could you get an airbnb like this in welwyn and then go into london each day by train? It will be much cheaper than staying in London itself but you are still closeby

sleepismysuperpower1 · 02/06/2019 21:20

Welwyn also has a roller rink, cinema etc if you dont fancy travelling in one day x

Caravanning in Cumbria? This site has availability, a restaurant, bar and heated pool.

House swap ?

Airbnb is usually the cheapest I find. There's sites like hoseasons and Parkdean for cheap caravans or bigger lodges to share which often have sales/deals. Is camping out of the question? Not my thing but a friend does it for cheap x

Thank you for the ideas!! X

Caravan is the cheapest option usually, a 3 or 4 bed caravan on a park with entertainment but close to beach maybe, plenty up your way

What kind of budget op?

HackAttack · 04/06/2019 23:50

500-1000

What does that need to include? If that's for everything I think you'll struggle but accommodation only you would be fine in Scarborough /filay/Whitby? Have you thought of going for 3/4 nights instead of the full Week? If you look even just a mile or two outside Scarborough accommodation gets much cheaper.

mindutopia · 05/06/2019 09:38

What about camping? A few cheap tents and a double pitch to fit all of you shouldn't cost more than 50 a day plus food and days out.

HackAttack · 05/06/2019 19:00

Sorry that was just accommodation x
