22 months - too busy playing for food

DD2 is 22 months. Had bug last week that we all got, that rendered you achy and without appetite. Is clearly better now, but is randomly refusing meals. Tea is served and she just pushes it away and gets down.

DH - leave her hungry, she’ll eat when she wants

Me - by calling her back to me at the table, or sitting on the floor with her, she’ll eat if I feed her mouthful by mouthful while she plays and I imagine this phase will pass.

What is best to do? She’s been an amazing eater her entire life and has plenty of meat on her if she stops eating for a bit!

DH is right. If you keep going with your plan you will end up with a terrible two who will only eat if you run round after her with a spoonful of peas. You are right at the beginning of the tricky stage of parenting which coined the phrase "dont make a rod for your back"
