Baby asleep since 16 week jabs

Hi all,
My DS has just had his 16 weeks jabs- gave him baby paracetamol and about half an hour after the jabs he had a monster feed, bit of a cry and has been asleep ever since. He's been down around 4 hours.

He didn't have a temperature when I checked a couple of hours ago. I'm sure he's fine and just sleeping them off but did anyone else's sleep so long after having theirs? I think I'm feeling concerned unnecessarily but I have postnatal PTSD after a traumatic birth and DS was quite poorly after, so I do get a bit worried around anything medical with him.

Rather enjoying the cuddles though. Hopefully he will sleep tonight after all his zzzzz today....Confused

Thanks

This can be normal at that age. They do tend to knock them out a bit. Don't worry. Not so optimistic about the night sleep though I'm afraid :o

Thanks so much, I won't worry too much then! We'll see what the night has in store for us Sad

Honestly, loads of people have said this is normal for after jabs.

I was sooooo excited for this as my DD only ever has 30 minute cat naps. Didn’t even get a second extra after any of her jabs 🤦🏽‍♀️

My Dd had her same jabs yesterday and then slept for about the same length of time, then had a great nights sleep too. However today a totally different story and shes been incredibly grizzly and barely slept. Hoping for a good night though!!

DD has her 8 week ones a few weeks back and slept all day long afterwards.

Blackandwhitecat1 · 29/05/2019 22:53

Oh no, I hope she feels better!

He slept for about 4 hours in the end, had a bit of a cry and then went to bed. I've got everything crossed for a good night of sleep, especially if there's a grizzly day ahead....

So glad that they have the protection of these vaccines, what a shame though that they make them feel so rotten! And you can't even cheer them up with chocolate....

Totally agree op, they are brutal but hopefully completely worth it! My LO has been so sleepy with all the jabs.... one year ones worst so far but they are all different! X
