Daughter is 4 1/2, starting school in September.
Has been going to the same nursery/pre-school since 10 months old, LOVES it.
We moved at Christmas, then went away for Feb/March and April. She's been back in pre-school since 23rd April.

We couldn't get a full time nursery place at new village, so booked her in to the two days we were able to get - Monday and Friday.
Left her at her old pre-school Tuesday and Wednesday with partner driving her in on his way to work (not helpful, he doesn't always work there, sometimes I've had to drive her in/collect her - hour for each journey).

She doesn't like her new pre-school - properly loses it on drop off.

We plan to take her out of her old pre-school after 'graduation' on 12th July, and just keep her at the new one over the summer for obvious logistics reasons. We're able to arrange childcare for the rest of the week (me/parents).

This is going to make her miserable.
When do we tell her? How do we tell her? Do we just change the plan and do something else? I can't work it out.

She'll probably settle better at the new one when she isn't doing both.
I'd just tell her before her last week, so she can choose a gift for her key person. Don't give her a long time to worry about it.
I work in a nursery and one of our long serving members of staff just left. One of her key children (now 3.5, been with her since 10 months) was so anxious, she'd been told that the staff member was leaving about 2 weeks ahead and kept saying she wasn't going to come anymore and mum was so worried how she would cope. First day after staff left, all the child said was "is (name) at her new school today?" And that's the last we have heard about it, she's fine!
