got my results...2;1 speech and lang therapy degree...took me five years...two pregnancies...chuck some bereavement in teh mix...ds getting an STD and all that child protection shite....and still ...I DID IT.

[picture dancing, swearing,crying,laughing and whooping twit in kitchen]

i got four Us at A level...and have been the 'one with teh personality'...the carer,the artist ,the cook in my family for tooo long..now i have a science degree...Hons!! (?not really sure what that bit adds)...it shouldnt mean that much considering all the other things in my life that are really special...but im cockableedinhoop.

one point off getting a 'first' too[im one of the people emoticon]...didnt want to be a completely jammy smug whatsit....damn this feels GOOOOD

Speech and Language therapy is on my list of things to look into when I start the access course.

What are the uni and placement hours like ??

aaahhhh...im crying now at you all being so obliging with your congrats!

i would say to anyone considering it (i did it undergrad)...that it is without a doubt the most rewarding and the hardest thing i have ever done.

nutcracker...it is a full time course wth clinical placements and alot of further study required in theevenings.it was possible for me because i had support (id just like to thank my MUM...sob sob gush)

meandmyflyingmachine....hang in there...good days and bad days youll get there in th eend xx

BoT.. have recently split with my dh and have little in the way of support/childcare for my 2 dcs, but am still hoping to apply for entry to the 2008 slt course at city. i know, i am mad..

But well done to you for finishing! do you have the worry of finding a non-existant job now the nhs has done its cutbacks??

BeansonToast, can i be really nosy again and ask what sort of bursary you received each month? would a single parent receive more?
i dont know what else i would live off am i am on my own. loans i guess.

allgonebellyup...im so sorry to hear about your split from dh...(the clue's in the name ...hope you are ok?)

however i think it sstill a good idea and nuff respect for applying...im very very confident that you'll manage the course some how or other....obviously stay in touch and ill help as and when i can!

im not worried about the job situation...things are changing a little and im just about to have another baby!

oh how funny...you are here!

you will def get more bursary as a single parent with two dependents.no idea how much more im afraid.

you will also qualify for the childcare element of you income is really low..ie only bursary and loan.
