Baby weight loss

Hello everyone,

My 11 month old baby's weight has dropped below 2nd percentile. She was born on the 2nd then moved to the 9th and now has been losing weight since the last few months. She has never been a good eater and I have had to struggle with meal times. She is on 3 meals and 2 snack a day with breastmilk in the morning, once during the day and night. Had the HV weigh her today and have been asked to see the gp... am very worried and feel like a Total failure and have no one to share my fears... really looking for some advice and assurance... she still fits in 6-9months clothes 😓😓... thanks in advance

What is she in height percentile? If she's dainty all round, it might not be so bad. Someone has to be on the low end for averages like percentile charts to work :) Is she actually losing or just not gaining?

Dont panic, see what the gp says.

We have weight problems too with 4 month old LO, except hes 75th in height so looks particularly bad, when really he's doing much better these days.

Dd is tiny, 2.5 and only just in 12-18 month clothes. She’s dropped and gained percentiles over the years and the GP has never been too worried.

Don’t feel like a failure. Getting little ones to eat is bloody difficult at the best of times. The GP will help you, not judge you.

My DD is 17 months and in 9-12 months. She's really petite and has always been really difficult with food. Try not to stress about the GP, their there to help. Thanks

Thanks so much all.. she is a tall baby.. falls on the 91st percentile for length..also just realised that the HV has plotted the weight graph wrong and she actually is not that bad.. hasn't lost too much.. so am going to keep up the cheese yoghurt and stuff along with proteins and hopefully she should be ok for the one year review.. Smile
