Ideas for playthings for 5 year old girls

Hi, we have a 5 year old boy who is to the typical trains, cars etc. We have lots of friends with girls of similar age but few 'girl friendly' toys that appeal to everyone. Any ideas of reasonably priced things I can consider?

Lego?

Yes, Lego is great for girls as well as boys. Then there are castles with princesses in them. As a child I loved dolls but remember loving my brother’s train sets.

I have a 5 year old daughter. Lego is always a winner, pens/pencils and paper...but cars and trains are good too!

Ir they just like talking at you 😅

We have b/g DT’s and didn’t buy specific boy toys and girl toys. DD loved garages with cars and DS played with the dolls house. Lego was a big favourite and lasts for years as you add more complicated sets.

Honestly, toys really aren't gendered.

Depends on the kids really. DD went to plenty of playdates with boys, she was just as happy with dinosaurs, trains, cars, footballs etc as she was with dolls. And when the boys came over they loved playing with her toy kitchen and dolls house as they were "new" in favour of her own cars, trains etc.

We also had kids (boys and girls) that refused to play with x or y because they're boy/girl toys.

I’m a reception teacher and the toys which involve both boys and girls equally include:
Sand pit
Water play table
The toy farm (the girls like the animals, the boys monopolise the tractors!)
The role play shop - toy cash machine, shopping trolley, baskets and veg stand
Playdough with rolling pins, cookie cutters etc...
Marble run
Jigsaws
