When I was on placement with the health visitors, a new mum just handed her baby to me and told me to take him in for his first jab!

She sat in the waiting room bawling- while im sat in the Drs room with a wriggly 8 week old screaming his head off!

God I didn't just cry, I had hysterics and had to be taken in to a side room and THEN had to be asked to leave after 10 minutes and me and ds were upsetting other patients

the shitty horrible nurse said in a sarky way "well it's easy to see YOU have bonded with your baby"

FirenzeandZooey · 19/07/2007 14:19

"asked to leave after ten minutes AS me and ds were upsetting the other patients"

my poor little mimine almost never cries, and this morning I could see the pain in her eyes, the ig tears rolling...2 jabs, one in each leg, I have got to ask dh to go instead of me...cant deal with it

Oh I cried and cried and cried when DD1 had her first jab. I just wasn't expecting it to be as horrific as it was. She was giving me a beautiful little smile and when they injected her I will never forget the look on her little face. DH or my Mum took her for the rest of the jabs. The HV thought I had post natal depression with DD2 as when I walked in the room to sign the form I burst out crying. My Mum then took over whilst I waited outside.

dd BLED when she had her first ones - I sobbed all the way home (TBH I think I've struggled with all the jabs she's had even the last ones when she was over 2 ).

amidaiwish · 19/07/2007 14:35

yes i cried
my mum took her for the 2nd lot, i couldn't bear it.

you're normal. there were always lots of mums in bits after the 1st jabs. that piercing scream from the bottom of their tummy. i still hear it now.

didn't bother me as much with DD2... hardened a bit by then (and looking forward to an afternoon of peace where she slept after the calpol )
