Hi,

Are there any apps I can use that my DH and I can add events into and it live updates for eachother? It may save a few arguments!

Thank you

We just share a google calendar
Super easy! And always up to date in real time

MSOutlook is better, imho, than Google-calendar, but DH doesn't have access to it.

So We use google calendar.
DC REFUSE to use it. So far. Annoying coz I don't know when/what Uni open days DD signed up for.
Don't use Google-calendar Reminders (they don't actually remind you to do anything). Unless you frequently study your diary which I think DH does.

You have to manually untick video conferencing for everything (I think?) which is a pain. And not easy to copy & paste. Plus mine seems to send me multiple emails for everything (why??). But it's ok, does the job, device independent, paper-free, records of the past, etc.

My google calendar reminders do pop up on my screen at the time allocated to remind me & i dont have a video conferencing default on there?

MumUnderTheMoon · 15/05/2019 21:00

What phones do you have? If you have apple products you just set up a shared calendar in the calendar app
Go into app
Tap "calendars" it's at the bottom in the middle.
Tap "add calendar"
Give it a name and a colour
Tap done
Now back to "calendars" click the "i" icon
Tap "add person" and add your hubby
Make sure you both turn on notifications

I stand corrected, the "every event default = video-conferencing" thing seems to be removed (it was Fing stupid). Sometimes I am scarred by such stupidities.

I use G-Cal on a laptop & no reminders ever pop up. But I get double emails for everything. Maybe app on a phone works different. Wouldn't surprise me.

lljkk · 15/05/2019 21:05

Ah... also, on the MacBook laptop, sometimes Apple 'calendar' gets triggered and I get 4+ notifications about a single event entered in G-Cal. Overkill.

I hate using phone for most things; I can touch type but not on a phone.

babysharkah · 15/05/2019 21:17

We've got an app called Cozi

lilbubsmama · 15/05/2019 21:23

@MumUnderTheMoon that sounds great - just set up the calendar. But when I click back into it after clicking on the 'I' the only option I get is to rename or change colour...?

Shut down the calendar app completely and restart
Tap "calendars"
Tap the new calendar
Tap "add person" it should be the second option down and is written in red.
