Hello mumsnetters, I have replied to other posts but This is my first time posting my own thread.

My 5 month old DD seems to hate bathtime. I've tried bathing her in her own baby bath and in a bath with me
I've tried making the water hotter or colder, I've put toys in the bath. I've tried different bubble baths.

She seems alright for the first couple of minutes, Splashing about, but then she will start crying and getting increasingly agitated and when I wash her hair she starts really screaming.
I don't wash her roughly I'm really gentle. Tbh she doesn't need much of a wash I only bathe her once a week. I just would like her to enjoy baths I love them lol
Any advice would be welcome TIA.

Shnuggle bath was a game changer for us.

bathing together is worth a try :)

Just do a quick bath, she’s still so young! Honestly, by the time she’s 4 you won’t be able to get her out!

oops sorry reread and see you've tried that..hmm is she over tired at bath time? maybe try a different time of day? or some water 'messy' play in a shallow tray or tuff spot.

elQuintoConyo · 12/05/2019 19:43

7.5 yo still hates it, showers too. He's a real water-dodger, but I still chuck him in 3 times a week.

It may just be a thing she hates. We tried everything with ds. To no avail. Flowers

Thanks everyone for the replies, I might try bathing her at a different time, I normally give her a bath early evening, after I've gave her a feed because she's having some baby food she gets messy so needs a wash.

Maybe try bathing more frequently to get her used to the bath routine?

My son screams blue murder in a baby bath.. But enjoys a regular bath tub. We got one of this wee seats that he could sit in in the bath. Think we got it in smyths but he was a bit older than yours. Up until then he was in a snuggle bath. He's also liked to sit on his own instead of being held all the time in the bath

Hello, my dd was the same and for the first 6 months bath time was done after 5 minutes! Then when she could sit up confidently unaided she suddenly began loving them.
