Hi,

I'm going out for the day in 4 weeks time. I will probably be home and finished drinking by around 8pm but it will be a full day with lots a drinks. When do they say it is safe to breastfeed again? X

As long as your sober enough to hold the baby.

Yep, even if you were paralytic there's more alcohol in orange juice - the alcohol content in the milk is the same concentration as the alcohol your bloodstream, it's like diluting a shot of vodka in a hot tub or something (have forgotten precise analogy!)

So yes, so long as you're not cosleeping, and are safe to hold the baby, feed away!

Agree. There's some brilliant recent research which explains this but essentially PPs are correct. Enjoy!

First baby, I didn’t touch a drop. Second baby, my mum has a photo of me drinking a glass of wine while feeding!

Enjoy your day Flowers

I’ve never not breastfed. If you’re well enough to look after yourself and get yourself safely home, you’re fine to breastfeed. Maybe just have a few large glasses of water from 6pm so you’re well hydrated when you get home.
