Camping with a 6 month old

Hi all Smile
We are going camping with our (then) 6 month old DD in July. She’s not a good sleeper so we often co sleep at home. I’m wondering about the sleep situ in the tent though - I feel like an air bed might not be a safe option but worry she won’t sleep in a travel cot! Has anyone done this & what’s your advice? Thanks in advance!

We took a pop up travel tent for DD at that age, I think it was a Samsonite pop-up. We then placed the cot on a thermarest so she was at our level.
Make sure you add an extra layer as it will be much cooler at night.
She slept so well in the tent...all that fresh air!
Have fun!

We had a folding travel crib on a thermarest for insulation, so DS was 'protected' and couldn't roll off anywhere between us on air beds. We could each reach out to him and keep him happy. It was really cold, although was May not July but don't undersetimate how much the temp drops overnight. It could easily dip below 10 degrees so make sure you have insulation under the sleep surface and layers so you can load up/strip off as required.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't love it. I slept terribly worrying about him, and then about everyone else if he started crying! Planning on waiting a few more summers before doing that again...

Did it when DS was 6 months at a festival. It was September so cold at night but he slept in a pramsuit plus multiple blankets in a Sleepyhead.

First night was his best night's sleep ever at that point! Went 10.45 to 5.15. Never repeated that till we sleep trained 4 months later!

We did it again at 18 months and that was harder as he kept crawling out of his inflatable toddler bed in his sleep and we ended up sharing one double airbed all 3 of us.
