Stopping breastfeeding an older child

I am still bf my 15 month old. I don’t mind doing it or it going on for another few months in theory - but he is SO naggy for the boob! If we are out and about, he’s fine. But at home, as soon as I sit down or if he sees a boob (looking down my top or something) he’s clambering on me to get some!

It’s like I can’t be at home with him without being a milk tap. It’s literally every 5 minutes - 4 sucks and he’s off again. Then back on. Plus, if we’re at home all together he barely wants my husband and constantly whinges for me / boob. If I’m not there he’s lovely with my husband!

He’s been like this for MONTHS.

I thought I’d wanted to wean naturally but I don’t know anymore!

Has anyone else had this? Did it stop? How do you stop breastfeeding a child who can just pull your boob out?! 😓

Yes it's a phase, it will calm down. Ds was like this. I wore high neck tops for a while and kept moving his hand away! He ended up weaning himself at 4.5. But I remember him going a bit bonkers for it for a while.
Of course if you want to wean then do - it has to be something you both want to continue.

You just have to say no when you don't want him to feed. It's that simple really. It's hard because he will whinge and whine, but he is going to whinge, whine and nag for things he wants that you've said he can't have for the next 15ish years so you might as well get used to saying and meaning no!

Maybe get into a routine of morning, lunchtime and bedtime or similar and any other time it's a no. If it's consistent he will get used to it quickly.

Offer a cup and a cuddle everytime he wants boob outside of his allotted times.

Sounds like my 16 month old daughter. I want to stop breastfeeding but don't know how. Don't want to be going on for too much longer, maybe a couple of months at most.
