Hi

Please can I get advice on how to introduce dairy products to my 11 month year old

This whole food thing is stressing me out as I'm a nervous mum that worries that little one is going to react to everything new..

I gave her petti filous and she was severally constipated at the same time I started her on this whether it's was because of the yoghurt I'm not sure but I have stopped that ever since and haven't given her any dairy but I understand this is important

Please can someone advise me on this?

Thanks

Hello, do you have any particular reason to think your DD might be allergic? I think the advice now is to introduce them to the full range of foods quite quickly. Petit filous is very sugary, so I would suggest a bit of cow's milk on her cereal, or maybe soft cheese (like Philadelphia) on toast.

Constipation does not equal a dairy allergy, it may have been because the protein in cow’s milk is difficult for baby to digest.
Most babies can start experimenting with small amounts of dairy foods like yogurt and cheese at about 6 months if they have been doing well on breast milk or cow's milk-based formula and there is no history of milk allergies in the family. It is usually OK to use in small amounts of milk when cooking. For example, put a small amount of milk in mashed potato.
This pasta recipe is a good way of introducing milk www.annabelkarmel.com/recipes/baby-chicken-pea-carbonara/

So basically I haven't introduced eggs of cheese cows milk in food and once or twice yoghurt and also meats and I'm conscious that she's turning one years old and would like her to start these..

In terms of yoghurt I felt she got constipated coz of the petty filous but do you think I should try it again or try another yoghurt if so which one?

Should I introduce cheddar cheese or soft cheese on toast or over steamed Vegs?

Could my little one have butter on a jacket for example?

Is skimmed milk ok? As I was looking at ready made mash as tesco and it contains skimmed milk?
