When did your baby walk?

My DD is nearly 17 months and still isn't walking. She cruises round the furniture really well, but as soon as I hold her hands or waist to walk independently, she sits down.

She's a really good crawler, and I suspect this is why she's not walking yet. Should I be worried? What do I do if she won't walk, do I ring my HV or GP?

Congrats on your second! I wouldn't worry too much, they do it when they are ready

At 19 months. I know it can be frustrating but they do it at their own time

14 months old here and he will walk holding hands happily but will only take a few steps completely on his own... Been doing this for at least a month or two now

16 months. She also cruised for a long time - about 4 months - before walking independently.

She then had a funny gait for a while, which prompted a Drs visit. She turned out to be extremely hypermobile, and was given Physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.

We still have issues with strength, and she tires easily, and is a little behind her peers physically, so we will need to constantly make sure she is active to maintain muscle strength.
