Primary Schools Winchester/Romsey/Chandler's Ford plus relocation

I am relocating to Hampshire due to mine and my partner's job. I am from Manchester so new to the area but my partner's family are based in Romsey and Lee-on-the-Solent. He is open to all areas but works in Whiteley so our location needs to be within 40 minutes of there ideally. I have the options of Winchester, Romsey, Salisbury, Alton and Fareham for my job and ideally would like to be within 40 minutes commute also.
I have 5 and 2 year old boys. I am looking for Primary school recommendations plus a nice area to bring them up. I have looked at many schools online but due to places available I am currently interested in St Peter's Catholic, Winchester, Romsey Primary, Otterbourne Primary, John Keble Primary and Oliver's Battery, Winchester.
I love Winchester and edge towards here due to secondary schools but I realise this is a long way off plus house prices are fairly high.
I am basically hoping someone could give me advice on these schools along with some area recommendations vs house prices. We will rent to begin with before deciding on buying but obviously would like to pick the right school first and foremost. I would need before and after school clubs until 6pm.
Also any nursery recommendations for my 2 year old would also be gratefully received!
