Need to leave BF baby at 4 weeks

I need to leave my breastfed baby with her dad for the night when she will be 4 weeks old. She has grasped BF really well and have tried her on an expressed MAM bottle which she drank fine. I just don't know how to go about getting her supply together for that night? We do eventually want to combine feed on formula and milk so was wondering wether to try and introduce this? Or expressing milk and freezing it so that she has enough. Advice please!!

Thanks x

Express as much as you can between now and then to increase supply and make sure you've got a handy stash in the freezer. I tend to pump onces my LO has fed to make sure I've always got supply for her feeds when I am there too. A good electric pump is your friend too. I had a manual one with my first and it was killer but he was FF as couldn't breastfeed. This time LO has taken to breastfeeding like a dream so I invested in a good electric pump to make sure I can feed for as long as possible.

I also use fenugreek which has increased my supply greatly so I now pump somewhere between 4 and 8ozs a day and that's only pumping one time a day too. Atm I'm just doing it to get a little supply in the freezer so occasionally DP can give her a bottle of expressed so I can go for a relaxing bath for example.

Ok thank you! And then just make sure I express as much as I can the night I'm not with her so it doesn't mess up my supply? Do you know what the best thing to store breast milk in the freezer is? Xx

Also, give her a bottle every day between now and then, if she takes it fine now, you want to keep that going and not have her suddenly decide she hates the bottle on the day when you aren't there.

It often works best to express before you feed. The foremilk will easily come. Your baby can get milk from a half empty breast but you may find it hard to express it. Your suppy wont be messed up with one night. Just express enough to keep you comfortable
