"she'll have no sugar before she's a year old" - oh dear!

I was checking my email today and DD (9 months) was sitting next to me. I had given her some paper to play with (a big treat), but then I realised that she was just a little bit too quiet. Yep, she'd managed to reach my chocolate (how do they stretch so far so young????) and had it all over her hands and mouth. Bless her, she did howl when I took it off her and cleaned her up.
On the plus side (proud Mum alert) she did say "dada" and offer DH her ricecake when she came home. DH was rather pleased, and both of us would like to think that she now knows who "dada" is, although we're a bit more realistic than that really.

Gosh, mine would just have eaten the paper.

Ahhh, the slippery slope, eh

I'm torn whether I'll tell DD's grandparents as I'm sure that they would find it a great excuse to bribing her to love them, ahem, I mean start treating her with sweeties.

grandparents don't need any encouragement, they think chocolate and icecream is a dietery requirement.

you are going to hve to start chomping your treats in teh loo like the rest of us.

lol@mother inferior.

My son snacked on rice cakes and water for the first year. He is now 2 and a half and his favourite foods are chips, cake, biscuits and sausages. Ah dear.

DS loves crinkly things (window envelopes, scrunchy toys) so I thought he was just playing with my galaxy wrapper ... oh no, he was sucking the chocolate off the inside the sly bugger!
