Bed wetting

Hi my son is 6 and still wetting the bed!. I have tried everything, I don't give Him a drink half our befor bed, he wees before bed and I tried to wake him during the night for a wee but he still wetting most nights. I have had to put him back in pull ups. I never shout at him coz I know it's not his fault but I am out of ideas he is starting to get embarrassed about I too. Any ideas how to help him?

It's very common, and quite normal. The GP can refer him aged 8 to a specialist. We had to monitor fluid intake and output of wee over 72 hrs. Doc thought his bladder was lazy through not drinking enough water - probably at school - and thus wasn't urinating enough during the day. We upped his fluids and told the teacher. A night alarm worked wonders. He was dry within a month and has had no accidents. Hang in there...

It's dictated by a hormone level, so it may be that he's just not quite there yet. It's quite common at this age!

Constipation can have an effect, so good to rule that out. Also drinking large volumes of water earlier in the day can help to encourage the bladder to hold large amounts of urine at night apparently.
