Hey guys, I probably sound a little silly but we’ve just had baby no1 DH goes back to work in 2 weeks & I’m terrified of being alone with a newborn baby. I can’t stop thinking what if I do something wrong? What if I don’t hold him probably & something bad happens. Just silly things really. Anyone got any experience of this or any tips?x

Two weeks is a loooong time with a newborn. You’ll be a pro by then! Honestly, it’s a steep learning curve but you’ll get there. And just remember that every first-child you’ve ever met (which is probably about half of everyone you know!) survived a rookie parent.

Not exactly, but I do remember feeling disbelief when we left the hospital with DD1 that they were just going to let us walk out of there and look after her by ourselves.
She survived.

Yes, and I also thought that there was no way I would ever manage to leave the house with her in my own! A couple of days on your own makes a big difference as it will show to you that you can do it (although it won't be easy!). And in time it will all become second nature. You'll be fine!

Congratulations! Like PP, I couldn't believe I was allowed to take this little baby home. We had first night at home nerves and then you get into the swing of it very quickly!
