School playground politics

Is there really a politics to this?
I recently stood somewhere different on the school playground to speak to another parent at pick-up time and the parent I often stand with literally stood in her same place, by herself even though there were literally just 3 of us on the playground. I felt really awkward as she stood by herself looking on in her usual spot.

A comment was then made about me not being in my usual spot. Since then, I've made a point of moving around at pick-up time and not always staying glued to the same area of the playground with the same mums.

Since then, the same mum seems to have been ignoring me.

Is there a playground politics that i seem to have gone against?! Everyone seems to stay in the same spots not just her, even if that means standing alone at times when there are other people to speak to. I find it odd.

Are there any unwritten and unspoken pick-up politics at other schools?

If there are I think you're doing the right thing mixing it up, they're being silly. We stand in place X and then move to the gate. I'll cut queue to talk to my friend or speak to someone else. You're all grown ups. It shouldn't be that complicated.
