So my 15 month old goes upstairs at bedtme ( it’s wgere I change his nappy before taking downstairs for story) so I follow and take him to bed.

Just thinking this is weird behaviour, has anyone else had a toddler take themselves to bed? He never tries to go upstairs otherwise!

Yep my 15month old does this.she sits at the bottom of the stairs and points, and when i ask if she wants to go to bed she smiles and nods, and is happy to go in her cot!

DS1 did this. Didn't want a hug or anything. Just to go to his bed. Bliss!

DS doesn't quite do that. We have gates in the way 😂

But as soon as I say 'do you want to go for a nap?' Or 'Bathtime!', he runs to the gate so he can climb up the stairs.

Enjoying it while I can... 😂😂

My now 4yo used to go to his room and reappear with pjs and his teddy from the age of about 12mo. He doesn't reappear now! He just comes for a kiss and cuddle and goes to bed. My dd on the other hand is still messing about at about 10pm unless very firm instructions are given. She is 6.

My DD2 used to say 'my go mine beb' when she was tired. She never refused any sleep time. She is 21 now and still a complete sleepyhead!

Bloody hell! How do you get them to do this? 😂😂

Seriously, do one of you want to borrow my DC and teach them this awesome skill? 😂😂
