I went to gently chuck my phone onto the pillow (an iPhone 8plus) and it went onto my daughters forehead I feel so bad!! Has anyone else done anything stupid or am I just careless! Common sense I should of moved her but jeez she was right next to me I don't understand how I managed it she screamed then cried for about 30 seconds then she stopped, she hasn't got any bumps just red marks from it, which isn't bad either but do I need to get her head checked or anything? Sorry if that sounds stupid but I feel so bad

I've dropped my phone on my children many times.

It happens. It was an accident. She isn't seriously hurt.

Give her a big cuddle and try not to worry x

I'm relieved I'm not the only one on here. She's still little so I felt terrible. Still do. Even though she's happily playing with her toy I keep feeling bad x

Accidents happen op, every parent has at some point hurt their child, whether that's accidently knocking them over, throwing a toy at them and them not catching and it hitting them etc. Don't worry about it your daughter will forget it by this evening.

I dropped my Kindle on my 2 week old DD whilst feeding through the night, I think I dozed off whilst reading to keep me awake.

I felt the drop and woke just in time to see it snack her right in the face, she screamed a bit but settled soon after.

Accidents happen, I’m sure this ones happened to most parents. I was feeding DS and dropped my phone right on his face, and I’ve done much worse. Your LO will forget about it before you know it and there’s no lasting damage

FannyFeatures · 28/04/2019 15:28

Another one I felt absolutely rotten for was when she was about 5 months old and learning to crawl.

We have laminate and she was lying on her belly with arms and legs flapping as though she was swimming I shunted her bum with my foot thinking she'd just slide forward but nope. She kind of crunched up and face planted the floor, big bruise for about a week 😳

She's 6 now and seems to have survived my clumsy parenting so don't worry yourself!

@FannyFeatures funny name lol. Ok that makes me feel a bit better 😅 thank you for sharing that

Hurting your child is a right of passage Grin

Normal to crazy guilty about it (that's a good sign as shows you care and have that maternal instinct)

But accidents happen everywhere everyday.
They are just that - accidents.

Keep an eye out but as long as she's continuing to be ok then don't worry.

I have a funny shaped forehead from falling headfirst of a changing table as a toddler!

InsertFunnyUsername · 28/04/2019 16:01

I knocked the broom over by accident with my bum, and it landed straight on my LO hand (she was crawling beside me) she cried, i cried and was fine within a couple minutes, but my god the guilt i felt.

Dont worry OP, i think every parent has done something accidentally to their child.

GlitterUnixorn · 28/04/2019 16:09

I'm relieved as said before that these stories were shared because I don't feel to bad now, well I do. But I feel better knowing I'm not alone. Dd is fine now anyway has had some food and is talking away. Wish I could forget as quick as baby's do !😁x

My 5month old is trying to sit, I had her on our bed practicing. I completely misjudged the distances when she wobbled over and she toppled head first onto a pile of her baby books. She had a little lump on her head and everything! Sad

She was absolutely fine after a minute or two but I felt so guilty! Confused

You are not alone! That's for sure
