Can you tell me what activities your kids do and their ages

Hello,

I'd appreciate an idea of what activities your children do and their ages.

My 3 year old regularly rides her pony and I've enrolled her into ballet. She also goes to nursery 3 full days.

Just wondering what/how much others do as I'd like to try and show her as much as possible to see what sticks/interests her but I don't want to push her too much.

She's my first and only so I have nothing to compare it to..

TIA Grin

DS 5, in reception, does swimming, karate and football. Been going out for loads of walks recently as well as he's just got into Pokemon Go.

He does PE once a week at school as well but he's become so much more active as he's got older and needs to run round a lot more.

We try to do something energetic at least one day every weekend as well like soft play, playground, walk, climbing wall, rock climbing, local NT places.

i have 4 kids:

dd 15 does swimming

ds13 does basketball and swimming

dd3 (twin 1) does ballet and gymnastics

dd3 (twin 2) does ballet and gymnastics

Chilledout11 · 25/04/2019 20:41

Football once a week (they are 4 and 5)
Swimming lessons blocks of 8 weeks (not at moment)

Think that's more than enough for them

Dd 13 - violin, piano, kickboxing

Ds 10 - after school sports club (varies) kickboxing, drumming

Both did swimming when younger
Always had a 'no more than 3 at a time' rule and one has to be joint

Never took them to anything they didn't ask to do
Always waited until they had done 3/4 weeks before buying any kit!

InDubiousBattle · 25/04/2019 21:36

My dc are 3 and 5, they go to a lego club once a week, just a local one after schooo. They will start swimming next month.

spinn · 25/04/2019 21:36

11yo - rugby/judo and guitar (sailing and cricket replaces rugby through the summer)
7yo - judo/rugby/trumpet and then cricket in the summer. Swims every week with school.
3yo - nothing (did cycling for 10 weeks and then learnt how to cycle so no longer needed). Doesn't need any activities (ft preschool) as there is enough going on.

Naz76 · 25/04/2019 21:41

My 4 yr old does swimming, cycling and pony riding.

My 7 yr old does brownies, pony riding, cooking club, sports club, piano lessons and swimming and cycling.

My 8 yr old does swimming and cycling, cooking club, sports club and piano lessons.

mindutopia · 26/04/2019 12:26

At 3, mine did nothing other than go to nursery. On our days off together, we just went out and did things (park, playground, beach, errands, etc.). She's 6 now, so totally different, but she has a riding lesson once a week and goes to Rainbows one saturday a month. She also does a couple after school clubs, but that's totally for childcare rather than because she's interested in those activities (even though she is interested in them).

Youngandfree · 26/04/2019 12:29

Dd 6 does, swimming,Irish dancing and gymnastics.

Ds3 doesn’t do anything as most things over here start at age 4. Anything for the younger ages is on while I’m in work so we can’t do those

Jambalaya76 · 26/04/2019 12:37

Ds 11 football 4 times a week
Ds 7 swimming once a week and beavers once a week.

Caterina99 · 26/04/2019 14:02

DS is nearly 4. He does swimming lessons once a week and a gymnastics class.

I’m a sahm and he’s at nursery 3 mornings a week.

DD 18m does nothing. We did do a baby music class earlier in the year, and I might do gymnastics with her from September when DS goes to nursery more

Crochetcrochetcrochet · 26/04/2019 14:08

DS1 age 4 does swimming, after school club at Church and, on Saturday, music school and rugby. That's plenty - I'd rather he only did one on a Saturday, but neither session runs at any other time.

Namechange8471 · 26/04/2019 14:11

DD 10,

Monday: movie club (after school)

Tuesday : Glee club(after school)
Girl guides 7-8.30

Wednesday: Forrest club (after school)

Thursday : dancing

Friday: none

Saturday: dancing

Sunday: none

elQuintoConyo · 26/04/2019 14:13

7yo does rugby 2 nights per week + Saturday mornings (so 5 hours total per week).
Swimming one hour on a Friday afternoon.

Otherwise it's park every day after school, running, scooter, bike. Or the beach (2 min walk from the school/10 from the house).

Then home with his favourite toys, reading, drawing etc.

He did do judo with school last year but hated it, so we haven't continued. They run a robotics club at lunchtime which he'd probably love, but it's expensive. And the cost of rugby is ASTRONOMICAL, so i don't knwo if we'll be able to combine the two.

As a nipper i only did Brownies. Don't feel i missed out on anything.

Slippershoes · 26/04/2019 14:15

My 3 year old does gymnastics and a swimming lesson. If we had a garden we probably wouldn't do gymnastics.

Upthepong · 26/04/2019 14:20

7 and 9 years old both do

Taekwando x2 a week
Scouts x1 a week
Music school x1 a week
Flute tuition x1 a week

They bike to and from school so with that and homework I wouldn't want to squeeze in anymore.

Comefromaway · 26/04/2019 14:24

Ds (15) Jazz, Tap, Singing, Amateur Theatre, Piano (at school) Choir (at school),

Up until dd went away to school aged 11 she did Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Stagecoach, LAMDA, Piano, Amateur Theatre

At the age of 3 dd was just going to Tumble Tots & Rhythm Time. By the age of 6 she was doing Stagecoach, Ballet & Gymbobs. She didn't start anything else until she was 7.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 26/04/2019 14:26

6yo: Beavers
7yo (nearly 8): Cubs, School choir.
There is nothing else here (except a Youth Club for the 7yo but she wouldn't get home until 9PM which we think is too late on a School night).
Move back to the UK in the Summer and the list of things they want to try is massive!

dreichuplands · 26/04/2019 14:39

My pair are 10 and do after school stuff at school four days a week. They would happily fill everyday with stuff but I put this limit on. They are a mixture of music, drama, photography, sewing, coding and the like. We have done swimming in the past. They aren't sporty apart from wanting to do skiing which hasn't been practical.

JurassicGirl · 26/04/2019 14:42

Dd10yrs - swimming, ballet, acro & piano

Ds8yrs - swimming, football & guitar

Ds6yrs - swimming

Catsandbootsandbootsandcats · 26/04/2019 14:46

20 yo - work and stare at his tablet/phone

16 yo - special needs club, choir, parkrun.

14 yo - fencing, violin, explorers, duke of Edinburgh award.

11 yo - trampolining, tap dancing, drum lessons, scouts.

At 3 they did pre-school and the oldest two did swimming.

They did nothing else till they joined Beavers at 6, then did that and the occasional club their school had.

DelurkingAJ · 26/04/2019 16:58

DS1 (6) Beavers, cricket and trying to get swimming sorted again
DS2 (3) Gymnastics

DS1 would like to do gymnastics too but it’s the same night as cricket.

BollocksToBrexit · 26/04/2019 17:00

DS has just turned 6. He does swimming, tabletennis, football, dancing and ice hockey. He wants to do taekwando too but I'm not sure how we'll fit it in.

chatnicknameyousuggested · 26/04/2019 17:06

Both my children row, they started swimming at 6 months and rowing at 6. DD is 12 now and DS is nearly 18. They never did anything else, really, due to time. I wanted them to have enough time to study / be with me (LP) in the evenings.
Oh, and they both do judo at lunchtime at school, but here almost everyone does (not in the UK).

NerrSnerr · 26/04/2019 17:10

My 4 year old does swimming lessons, tennis and has just started tennis after school.

My 2 year old does baby bounce and rhyme.
