Can you tell me what activities your kids do and their ages

Hello,

I'd appreciate an idea of what activities your children do and their ages.

My 3 year old regularly rides her pony and I've enrolled her into ballet. She also goes to nursery 3 full days.

Just wondering what/how much others do as I'd like to try and show her as much as possible to see what sticks/interests her but I don't want to push her too much.

She's my first and only so I have nothing to compare it to..

TIA Grin

My 6yo does ballet, drama club, swimming & Rainbows. I think it's too much but she enjoys them all and doesn't want to drop any.

caringcarer · 26/04/2019 17:29

Ds 12 does swim training 3 times each week and occasional gala.
Does cricket training 3 times each week including a one to one session for spin bowling, and plays cricket matches for 2 different teams every week in summer. Goes to cricket camp in 1/2 term weeks too.
Goes ice skating, jump extreme trampolining, cinema about once every fortnight each.
Does a 2km Park run most Sunday mornings before cricket training.
Compete in Aquathlons in autumn and winter when no outdoor cricket training.

caringcarer · 26/04/2019 17:32

Posted too soon. Scouts on Monday's. He also has a personal tutor for Maths and Science three times each week.

He gave up Stagecoach singing, drama and dancing about 1 year ago after going for 5 years.

ninecoronas · 26/04/2019 18:00

2 yo does football "training" at nursery once a week. There's a coach and everything. I'm sure they just run about and fall over but she's still got a better left foot than me Grin Also messy play and playgroup most weeks when she's at home.

6 mo did a baby massage class for 4 weeks...other than that her interests mostly revolve around ye

ninecoronas · 26/04/2019 18:00

Whoops, revolve around trying to grab the phone out of my hands it seems...

Theninjawhinger · 26/04/2019 18:02

God Ds does shed loads but lots are through school or organised by friends:

Violin, football, rugby, tennis, karate and cricket.

QuickQuestion2019 · 26/04/2019 18:05

Your THREE YEAR OLD HAS HER OWN PONY??!!

Oh Mumsnet.....

weebarra · 26/04/2019 18:35

DS1 11 - scouts, choir, code club
DS2 8 - beavers and code club
DD 5 - rainbows and ballet

I work three days and they're all at school, so hard to fit anything else in. DS1 has just had a taster for a ASD/ADHD football club which he was very positive about so might be adding that.

Paddingtonthebear · 26/04/2019 18:45

Outside of school my 6yr old does swimming and Rainbows weekly. Riding lessons fortnightly. At school she changes her activity every term but currently does Science Club and Tennis

Lost5stone · 26/04/2019 19:24

Dd is nearly 3. She does ballet, swimming and gym club. Gym club will have to stop in Sept as she starts pre school and it clashes with her sessions (sure pre school will make up for it anyway!)

xyzandabc · 26/04/2019 19:33

DD12 - guides, swimming, St John cadets, fencing, flute, piano, once a term orchestra

DD10 - swimming, St John badgers, football, piano, guitar

DS7 - swimming, karate, beavers, drumming, football

At 3 they were at nursery 2/3 days a week, we usually went to some kind of playgroup on my days off. The girls did a bit of ballet and gymnastics I think, but nothing more serious until about age 6 or 7.

Give them a year or two to settle in to school and not be exhausted at the end of the at, then let them try things that they want to within reason. Time, cost and distance being reasons!

autumnboys · 26/04/2019 19:39

DS1 (15) - Explorers, helps with the local cub pack, works about 6 hours a week between two jobs, climbing, guitar lessons.

DS2 (13) - Scouts, drum lessons, climbing. Recently gave up fencing.

DS3 (9) - Cubs, Lego club, multi sports, swimming, fortnightly club for ASD kids. About to start guitar lessons.

We go to church every Sunday and the older two go to the evening service sometimes to play music/help with the visuals.

TheGirlWhoLived · 26/04/2019 19:40

Dd (8) does gymnastics twice a week, guitar, swimming in a block of lessons, art club and amateur theatre.

Dd (5) does gymnastics once a week, swimming in a block (usually Easter and a week in the summer) and ballet

thaegumathteth · 26/04/2019 19:42

Ds 12 is in 2 football teams. He also did beavers cubs and scouts but recently quit which is a shame as it was very good for him.

Dd 8 does yoga, hip hop, ballroom dancing, fencing and brownies. She loves them all and it’s manageable just now. She only did the ballroom dancing until she was about 5/6 though and then she started the rest. She’d love to do horse riding and hockey but we just don’t have the time.

yorkshirecountrylass · 26/04/2019 19:44

DS is six. He has after school club's four nights a week (Craft, Music, Book and Lego) and a swimming lesson one evening a week. He has a group horse riding lesson one weekend day also.

thaegumathteth · 26/04/2019 19:46

I forgot dd is also in the school choir which she loves but it’s all done during the school day so we just turn up to performances

Susiesue61 · 26/04/2019 19:47

DS1 is at uni but still does cricket and football.
DDis 17, she does cricket for 3 different teams and at college, fits in a bit of football when she can!
DS2 is 13, he does football and cricket.

DD used to dance twice a week and do brownies but gave uo when she started doing more cricket

At 3 they did swimming and DD did dancing

Jackiebrambles · 26/04/2019 19:50

My almost 4 year old does swimming and ballet. She's at nursery 4 days a week.

My 6 year old does swimming and football (under duress quite often!).

I never know how much is too much. I work 4 days so they do quite long nursery/school/wrap around days, and they quite like just chilling out at home! I never did any extra curricular stuff really, except swimming and then choir/playing guitar when I was at secondary school.

Bonkersblond · 26/04/2019 19:55

DS 14, boxing twice weekly, Football once week, DofE, chess club
DD10, dances 3 times a week, sometimes more if there’s a show on or exams. Tutor once a week, youth type club once a week.

reefedsail · 26/04/2019 19:58

DS(8) only child:

Swimming 5hrs/ week
Sailing between 3-9hrs/ week March-ish to October-ish + camps in holidays

QuickQuestion2019 · 26/04/2019 23:39

Did no one else read the part about the THE PONY?

chatnicknameyousuggested · 27/04/2019 08:03

Poor QuickQuestion, shouting into the void! :)
Yea, I went back and saw it, missed it the first few times.
