Am I being neurotic?

DD 22 months attended a toddler group today and while there one of the mums sitting next to me mentioned her little girl had been in hospital with pneumonia recently but has now thankfully recovered.
This evening DD has been coughing a lot, it sounds like quite a wheezy cough and now I’m stressing thinking she’s picked up some sort of virus. I had a quick google and apparently it’s possible to catch the viruses that can cause pneumonia from infected people.
Do you think I need to be extra vigilant or am I being massively neurotic?

No harm in being vigilant- but I don’t think she could have developed the virus so quickly if she was only exposed to it this morning.

If she’s coughing my magic tip is to give her water as cold as possible to sip. Fill a lidded cup with ice and water, and encourage her to have it little and often.

I also think she wouldn't have picked up the virus as quickly as that, they usually take a few days for symptoms to appear.

It could be a different cold virus that is causing the cough. I would keep an eye on her and make sure she has plenty of fluids.

When my DD was that age she was constantly under the weather with various coughs and colds due to picking them up at toddler groups. I always used to worry about them too so I do understand. You will probably find she is fine in a couple of days.
