They seem to be such a thing nowadays- my kids get invited to at least one a month.
But there is no sleep
Seems that it’s not cool parenting to actually insist the kids go to sleep at some point and acceptable to let them stay up all night on a heady combo of sweets and films and then have them collected at 10am the next morning utterly useless to do anything for the whole of the day.
I have to tell the kids they can’t go to the vast majority anymore because we get a whole day of misery and exhausted grumpy kids. If the host parents would only do a ‘quiet now and sleep’ type strategy from about 11pm leading to sleep around midnight it might mean the kids aren’t literally crying with exhaustion when collected.
Does anyone else hate them?
