My son went to my sisters house for dinner and apparently was making some really nasty comments about me. Saying how everything I cook is disgusting (?) how I dont put any food in the fridge (obviously isnt true) that I dont wash chicken (your not meant to!) but sister does. It taste like feathers (not sure how as I only buy chicken breast) and yeh just basically that he hates everything I cook. Is this normal for a 7 year old? Im starting to think that he doesnt like me very much as this isnt the only thing. but dont really want to go into much other detail as it would be outing. Would you find these comments hurtful? and WIBU to only cook frozen packet food from now on?!

Gosh, I can see why you would feel really hurt by those comments but I would try to work out what's really behind it. Do you have any reason to think that he actually thinks those things about your cooking? Do you have a good relationship in general? Maybe he was just being a bit of a suck up to his auntie, with the whole "oh MUMMY'S food isn't ac nice as YOURS" type of thing?

Hes behaviour has been very bad lately. I do find it hurtful. I feel like he dislikes me I think he is resentful that his dad isnt around but its not something I can help. He is very rude to me in general. I didnt think he disliked my cooking as he has never said anything bad about that to me but he has always made it very clear that he prefers my sisters cooking not that we go there often. Once a month if that.

That sounds really hard, you don't have health visitors any more at that age do you?! I'd get in touch with the school or your GP to discuss his issues, it can't do any harm.
