Clothes for holiday with 5 month old

Hi everyone
My husband have booked a holiday in October this year. Our daughter will be 5 months by then. It will be about 20 degrees. I am a first time Mum and I have no idea what to take/ buy clothes wise. How many outfit changes a day does a 5 year old need? Should i take layers? I.e dresses but also tights and cardis in case it's cooler? Do 5 month year olds still already require a vest under their baby grow/ dress?
I'm reluctant to buy loads of summer items as it will be almost winter back home, so want to buy only what is really needed.
Thank you x

Vests. Long and short, leggings or tights and may be some shorts. Be prepared to change layers during the day .

You may find sizing tricky if you buy now... (my 7 month old is in 18-24 month clothes!!) But for current almost 20 degree weather in UK I would say no need to double vest. I find vests and leggings the least faff and they don’t ride up when you’re holding them. I’d say 3-4 pairs of leggings and allow for 2 vests a day (less if you’ll have washing facilities) get a mixture of long and short sleeved. allow for 4-5 sets babygrows due to leaks but if they fall asleep in leggings it’s not the end of the world! Sunhat probably needed. I find a zip fleece very handy for evenings or cloudy days (H&M have them if you’re in the uk) sainsburys have some nice leggings and tops sets for warm weather.

At 5 months last year my DD was wearing vest and/or babygrow at night, and in the day either short sleeved vest & cardi, or long sleeved vest, with either leggings or dungarees, and socks. A dress and tights once a week as I found them a pain.

I could often manage to change her clothes in the morning and not need to change clothes again until bed time. But an occasional poo or pee incident meant I needed to change her clothes maybe twice a week. But every baby is different! Some are sick a lot. I'd wait until nearer the time and see what she is like.

I'd wait. You'll be able to pick up summer stuff in the end of season sale much cheaper than now.
