Saw this term mentioned on a thread recently.

Never heard of it before.

Have done a little online googling, could be helpful in relating to dd1.

Any thoughts on it?

Dd1 is a 'sensitive child'

I think some children are more sensitive than others, dd1 gets upset easily, hates to see others upset and cries at the slightest little thing.

TaLcYo.

You didn't even recognise that Marne had replied.

I think it's extremely rude to bump a thread without even acknowledging your only reply!

Interested in this thread?

Then you might like threads about these subjects:

I am sure she didn't mean to be rude. if her pc is like mine sometimes you don't see all the posts.

TaLcYo · 14/07/2007 23:58

thankyou for your reply marne,[genuinely]
dd1 also gets very upset...also needs very little sleep.

Talcy - my son is sensitive.

Feels things profoundly and is very sensitive to peoples moods and facial expressions.

TaLcYo · 15/07/2007 00:04

@tnog......does he/you seem to know what the other about to say?

OP posts:
TnOgu · 15/07/2007 00:05

We are quite in tune a lot of the time.

TaLcYo · 15/07/2007 00:11

I think drink has made Helen act out of character.

I'm sure she will apologise in the morning.

LordPan · 15/07/2007 00:18

Talcy. My dd is HSC, and that is how I arrived at MN!

Infact, I have started a thread this evening in "behaviour/dev" in wishing to speak with the poster who directed me toward a better understanding of HSC.

My first thread, last year, was on this. But I wouldn't know how to find it now. The poster's name is jabberwocky, but she has since emigrated and has given birth in the past few months. She still posts though.

TaLcYo · 15/07/2007 00:21

thanks pan, sorry, Lordpan.

There was a thread on here recently which grabbed my interest, every since, have been looking through 'new eyes'!

Talcy - it changed totally how I approached dd. I knew she was 'different', and not just shy at all. I got her school report today taht confirmed my thoughts about her.

I googled HSC last year, and it produced a post here. It's an issue dear to me.

can you link the thread, by any chance??

TaLcYo · 15/07/2007 00:30

yep....will try find it...could take a while!

my dd never really been shy, or quiet.. very 'clingy'...and always worrying...about everything!

Same as ds.

He talks about death a lot, and he's 10.

j20baby · 15/07/2007 00:36

things are sounding a little familiar could someone please tell me what HSC is please

IsabelWatchingItRainInMacondo · 15/07/2007 00:36

I was asking today about a book Enid recommended in one of the threads about sensitive children. The book, I was told, is called The Highly Sensitive Child.

TBH I'm not sure if DS is highly sensitive but he really finds it difficult to cope with change, hates to be the center of attention and has plenty of problems making friends with other kids although he is perfectly capable of being nice and talkative to an adult.

LordPan · 15/07/2007 00:36

There is a sort of indices list of manifest behavioural notes....a check list of sorts. It is in a book on this subject, but another netter has my copy.

TaLcYo · 15/07/2007 00:37

tnog, dd asked me this morn, who she was before she was born...what other person was she?

Lordpan...can't find thread by title, not sure who op was. There was a questionaire/tick list...

OP posts:
LordPan · 15/07/2007 00:38

Isabel - that is the title of the book. Forget the author's name...

LordPan · 15/07/2007 00:40

T- that is pretty indicative, IMHO. A friend of dd's mum reckoned she had a look as if she's been here before. My impression on occasion is that she is just re-acquanting herslf with things. spooky at times.

LordPan · 15/07/2007 00:44

T- my email address is (no-one's looking) [email protected].
I will locate the book, and happy to chat about impressions/perspectives on HSC..when it seems authentic to me..and when it's not..
