New baby advice

Just after some general advice. I know all babies are different but I didnt experience this with my first, possibly because I bf & she was on me a lot!

I have a nearly 3 week old who is golden in the day. Feeds well every 2-3 hours. On average 4oz formula fed. Naps well. Isn’t awake very much yet.

However, from 2am-7am literally will not sleep despite being fed, changed, winded etc. Last night I tried playing white noise & some soft lighting made no difference. As soon as laid back down she hiccups or cries or is just generally winging & moaning & won’t sleep.

I know she’s newborn & this all takes time! But wondered, am I feeding her too much/too little (haven’t formula fed before). She doesn’t mind sleeping in her cot/Moses in the day & doesn’t suffer hiccups or whinging in the day time at all! She’s quiet as a mouse in the day. I do the last feed around 10pm, then she wakes between 1-2am and that’s it, won’t go back down after that unless I’m holding her.

Any advice please

Dummy. Get her in as much sunlight as possible in the day. This can be just in front of a window. Consider cosleeping.

I use a dummy & we go for a walk every day & the Moses is next to the window.

At 3w old what size teats do you use? We use mam bottles

No soft light at night. The room should be ask dark as possible. Dods she has reflux if she has hiccups? Find something to prop the head end of her cot/moses basket up (we used the extender for the handle of the buggy but a big book would work) so she isn't completely flat. I agree with the other poster in making sure she gets lots of sunlight during the day. Get the radio on for a bit more noise to indicate day time. Then at night keep it dark and quiet.

3 weeks was a long time ago for us. You can always buy the size 2 teats and see how she does, if she is not ready for them then go back to size 1.
