Hi all I feel really lost and worried as my son is soon to leave home and has been my carer for the past year. He’s my only company and is all I see all day. Feeling old and past it.

That sounds tough. Will you have somebody who stops by to help you? Does he plan to visit? How old is he?

As much as he has provided so much support for you, I'm sure you love him dearly and want what's best for him. Letting him live his life will do him a world of good, so just keep that in mind.

So, first of all remember this is a really positive step for your ds, and will mean he is stepping out to build his own life, and mean he won't be stuck, building any resentment. This is all good.
From a practical point of view, what have you put in place to ensure you get the care and support you need, going forwards ?

Obviously you don't have to share on here, but what are your difficulties? It might help people make suggestions about how you can get further support, widen your world and build social life. there are all sorts of support groups out there.
