Is reflux the reason baby won't sleep on its back?

Run down;

Baby born
Day 1 - given cows milk based formula, sick all day 27 loose poos
Checked in hospital and admitted to special care - stomach flushed and switched to hypoallergenic formula and gaviscon
Day 2 - 6 - absolutely perfect. Content happy baby
Day 7 - every time I try to put him down in his crib he is squirming, grunting, making lamb noises. He will only sleep on us. Yet he's slept perfectly well in a crib alone up to now

Could it just be the gaviscon not working or something else?

Could be cows milk protein allergy, or xoyld be reflux, or could be baby just likes to be held.

Our DS, now 7 months had silent reflux and didn't sleep on his back for about 3 months, then it was for 20 min at a time and we persevered untill we can get 6 hours at a time now he's on ranitidine.
