If I make a 6oz bottle up, the fluid level reaches 7oz once the powder has been added. If baby then drinks the milk and the fluid level is showing at 1oz at the end, does that mean he’s drunk 5oz or 6oz?

5oz because I made a 6oz bottle and 1oz is left, or 6oz because the fluid level was at 7oz and is now at 1oz?

I've wondered this myself. I would just count it from the 7, so if you did w 6oz bottle, and it went up to 7oz, and 2oz remained, I'd typically say he's had 5oz

It's the weight of the powder in the water. A 6oz bottle is 6oz of water then the powder.
Like when you get in a bath the water rises just like it does when powder is added to the bottle of water. So 6oz bottle with 2oz left means baby has had 4oz.
