Toddler pulling bed apart...help?

My toddler's newest "thing" is to dismantle his bed entirely. I wouldn't really care about him then sleeping on the floor, but he walks along the slats and the paranoid mama in me is worried he'll catch his ankle in the slats.

Anyone have a little one who did something similar and/or any ideas on how to maybe secure the mattress to the slats? I thought about maybe getting a strap to secure it lengthwise around the mattress and through the slats, then just putting a few sheets over the straps so he can't access those, but not sure?

I would just take the bed frame away and leave the mattress on the floor!

Remove the bed!

Agree, simply take the bed away. He will be fine on the mattress for a few months, then try again.
