Removing the sleepyhead

My ds is 10 months old and had the sleepyhead from about 5 months when his sleep was all over the place and it really helped settle him.

Hes now in a good routine, doesn't use a sleepyhead when napping at nursery so I'm giving it a go with his first nap this morning.

Hes been rolling round the cot enjoying his freedom for 20 mins now and I'm not sure whether I should have done it differently.

Has anyone got any tips for doing this successfully or do you just go cold Turkey?

My LO is 6 months and we just went cold turkey. We mostly used it at night and for the occasional nap. We had three days of dreadful sleep and then he was fine. Being younger than yours though, he is still in a next to the bed crib so would feel a bit enclosed still. You could try a rolled up towel for a few days, moving it gradually further away?
