AIBU. My ds is 9. Until recently I have been working full time while DH looked after him. DH has now found a job and I now work part-time. He is our only child! Without my knowledge DS has been accessing a lot of screen time. Spending hours on You Tube. During my first week of his new job. School have called me to a meeting, informing me that DS is repeating inappropriate language from You Tube. I have since deleted You Tube from any device he has access to! While I was working! DH has allowed DS to download You Tube! I discovered it today! DS was watching something very inappropriate. I have ranted at DH and am afraid if school should say something! I feel very annoyed!

I feel your pain! We have had similar, my DS is 8 (9 in July) and we’ve had battles over YouTube. He feels he’s too old for YouTube kids but the times I have allowed ‘normal’ YouTube he has also repeated bad language and his general attitude changes and becomes very teenagy! He luckily hasn’t repeated anything at school but does go around saying phrases/ random words he gets from there (although I expect so do a lot of the other kids, esp boys in years 4,5 and 6).

He’s just today come whining to me to allow him to have normal YouTube again with lots of promises to not watch bad/ scary videos but I’m really in two minds about it!
