Does anyone know roughly how long you have to be back at work after maternity before u can claim mat leave pay again if u wanted a second child? I can’t find anything in hr handbook and don’t want to ask incase they think “for god sake she’s going to be off again with 6 month pay”. I mean I’m back in work in September and baby is 10 months then but debating waiting till next summer as don’t want too big a gap

As long as it is same employer you qualify for smp as long as you are earning above the minimum during your qualifying weeks. Any employer enhanced payment scheme may set its own rules though.
