Need advice, vaccines.

Hi, I'm sure this has been posted before at some point but I'm just looking for advice on people who gave there child (or is going to) the MMR vaccines (and the hib menB and pcv that are given on the same day/time)
My baby has had all her injections from when she was born and the next coming up are her one year old ones. But I'm having people tell me it causes autism? People sending me links of baby's before and after the jabs? A perfectly healthy baby and suddenly is fitting everyday and has developed basically autism and wasn't the same again? Is this true? I don't want my baby getting ill by not getting it done and I was happily going to do it but no way do I want to make her change into someone different. I've seen loads of baby's that haven't changed from having though? But what are your thoughts?

My thoughts..? That anyone who tells you vaccines cause autism is batshit.

Who is telling you that? Are they medical professionals? Researchers? No? Then feel free to ignore them. Links between MMR and autism have been widely discredited.

superram · 25/03/2019 20:33

Mmr does not cause autism. Not being vaccinated is directly responsible for the recent increase in measles cases. You can die from measles.

Mommaxx · 25/03/2019 20:33

@WinkysTeatowel I was thinking that, and she has had all her other injections? Apparently it's just the mmr and it has aluminium in it which can cause seizures? I'm just looking for opinions and I respect yours! It probably is bs!

OP posts:
CostanzaG · 25/03/2019 20:34

There is no link between MMR and autism. Any links that were reported have been discredited many, many times.
Vaccinate your child.

Mommaxx · 25/03/2019 20:34

Yes I always planed to get it done anyway regardless it's just interesting peoples thoughts and a lot are the same intact all of them are I can't imagine not getting it done and then her getting seriously ill and it will be all my fault

OP posts:
CostanzaG · 25/03/2019 20:35

It's not probably bs it absolutely is bs.

LikeDolphinsCanSwim · 25/03/2019 20:36

Measles can cause seizures. There’s a lot of measles around these days.

Mommaxx · 25/03/2019 20:36

@CostanzaG dont worry she is vaccinated and always will be, I'd just never heard of it before and was curious to see what people thought

Bookworm01 · 25/03/2019 20:36

That research has been discredited over and over again. Look in medical journals for evidence-based research. There is no link.

For your child's sake, and everyone in you community, please immunise.

Mommaxx · 25/03/2019 20:37

Thanks for that link x

Mommaxx · 25/03/2019 20:37

@Bookworm01 she's had all her jabs done and will continue just wanted thoughts. Thank u x

It doesn't! My dd is autistic and you could tell from birth, you don't realise at the time but they are "wired" differently so had all kinds of signs, even at 6 weeks our have documented a couple of things that my paediatrician saw as markers 3 years later. she was 2 when she was formally diagnosed.

willowandsage · 25/03/2019 20:39

It’s complete and utter bollocks.

Andrew Wakefield, the ‘doctor’ who allegedly did a study that found the mmr link to autism was struck off from practising as a doctor. The ‘study’ was devised to benefit him as he had developed single shot vaccinations which would have financially benefitted him if they were to be used, so the study was created in order to discredit the current vaccination and in turn promote his jabs.

Mommaxx · 25/03/2019 20:40
One link I got sent from an anti vaxer clearly stating do you want your child to go through this
OP posts:
kingfisherblue33 · 25/03/2019 20:42

Do your research if you’re seriously concerned. But Andrew Wakefield's ‘Research’ has been debunked as flawed and wrong. There is no proof that the Mir vaccine damages children, apart from in a few very rare cases where the child had existing health problems.

Critical thinking is your friend.

In England in 2018 there were 913 cases of measles - a huge jump on 2017’s 200 cases. People are going on holiday to Europe, catching measles and coming home with it. Two dc in Greece have died of measles.

The diseases are much more dangerous than the vaccine.

Mommaxx · 25/03/2019 20:43

Yep I believe autism would of had to be there from birth and signs develop. Not from an injection.

OP posts:
willowandsage · 25/03/2019 20:43

He falsified a large proportion of data and the study/research was retracted - there’s been over 30 studies into the link between mmr and autism and not one bit of information has been found to suggest even the slightest link whatsoever, millions have the jab every year, and the Lancet should never have published the study and later withdraw it due to how inaccurate it was.

Mommaxx · 25/03/2019 20:44

When she sent me the link I thought what? And then thought surely my child wouldn't go through that from a jab. Not that I could watch it all as my phone is on the brink of dying all together

OP posts:
kingfisherblue33 · 25/03/2019 20:44

Anti-vaxers are generally badly informed fanatics with no medical knowledge. Why listen to them?

Langrish · 25/03/2019 20:45

I’m horrified that young parents are still being fed this garbage, years after it was all so publicly discredited.
Please, fully vaccinate your daughter.
