Entertaining a 2.5 year old...

... who isn't easy to entertain! My DSis has a DS the same age as my DD (days apart) but what works for my little girl (and my niece, her first child) doesn't work for him.
He'll have snacks or watch 15 mins on the tablet, but struggling to find other things that will keep him quiet at the dinner table in restaurants or in the car. He can't quite do sticker books yet and isn't interested in colouring in. She's borrowed my etchasketcher for the long journey she's going on today but is looking for more sustainable ideas like that. He basically just wants to run until he drops, like a Duracell bunny! Obviously she tires him out as much as possible so sleep is ideal in the car but not a restaurantGrin I've suggested a couple of amazon kids' games for the kids Kindle Fire but more suggestions welcome. TIA

Fuzzy felt, magnetic pictures, aqua doodle? Tbh I think if you ha be a 2.5 year old who wants to be on the go then long restaurant meals will have to wait a year or so!

True! Grin it was my birthday yesterday so planned a meal out somewhere inappropriately adult, my fault!
