Does anyone recommend these? Was offered one recently but read a lot of mixed reviews on them

They're ok.

They're not useful for a very long period of time and are quite expensive so I wouldn't buy one new. If someone is offering you one for free or much reduced then I'd take it.

You need to watch them while they're in it because they can fall out, especially if you have a skinny baby! Chubby ones can be wedged in!

How old is your LO? Used mine literally once. DC planted feet and toppled right back.
Binned it.

MissChananderlerbong · 17/03/2019 21:45

Useless here, both my boys arched their backs and could topple it, even with the straps on!

Forgot about these. We had a second-hand one for DS (about 11 years ago!) but his Michelin baby thighs were so vast we couldn’t use it Grin

eurochick · 17/03/2019 21:48

We had one but it pinched my baby's thighs and she never liked it. It was only used a few times.

I found it handy when I was cleaning the house as easy to move around with me etc but other than that, wasnt the most amazing thing ever.

maxinespalour · 17/03/2019 21:53

My ds loved his! It was a godsend too, as he would sit it in it happily amongst dd's game or whatever and be really content. Mind you, he was a lazy little thing, didn't bother walking until he was 2 and always very chilled out generally.

I had a mamas and papas sit up and play seat which my DD loved; we started weaning her in it as it had a tray and it was especially good when she was at the stage where she wanted to be sitting but coudnbg support herself.
I would always recommend getting things like that second hand though as you might get one and discover your baby hates it

ballsdeep · 17/03/2019 21:54

Mine used to throw them selves out of it

FiaMarrow · 17/03/2019 21:55

We had the mamas and papas version which was much roomier. I'd recommend that one!

NuffSaidSam · 17/03/2019 21:56

The mamma's and Pappas one is better imo.

spugzbunny · 17/03/2019 22:09

Loved ours. It's only useful until they are about 6 months but my little girl was desperate to sit up from an early age so it meant I could pop her in that and she'd sit happily while I got other things done around her. It really depends on the baby.

Some can be dangerous as pit baby in unnatural sitting position. Please don't feed in bimbo floor seat the mulit seat is fine though

Depends how long your DC takes to learn to sit independently. Mine was a late sitter. At 3m the bumbo was useful for sitting him up to play or watch tv while we ate. At 6m it was vital for weaning because he needed to eat solids but couldn’t sit yet. At 9m he learned to sit so we took the bumbo to grandma’s house to use as a chair while eating and it still gets used.
