Rolling babies in cots

My 6 month old DS is about to swap from his Moses basket to a cot in his own room. The only thing is he is an avid roller! as soon as you lie him down he flips to his front. hes been doing It for weeks and hasn't worked out how to get back to his back. what happens when he's in a big cot with lots of room? I'm worried about the safety of it in the night. anybody had any experience?

I understood that as soon as they can roll they are ok. Mine turned into a front sleeper as soon as he could roll so I left him to it. Providing there isn't anything they could get tangled up in or a suffocation risk (eg no cot bumpers or anything dangling) I thought it was ok.

If they can roll they are fine. Just don't wrap him up, and make sure there is nothing in the cot which could hurt him.

Once they can roll and then roll back again, it's fine.

If he can only roll on way...it's probably still ok. Maybe turn him over once he's asleep.

Lots of tummy time and turning him back and forth so he can master rolling the other way!

The rule is that if they roll themselves in to a position then it's fine. You don't need to worry about them rolling back necessarily.
