Teething anklets / bracelets ? Yes or a no go? Where they are said to stop pain?

I don't believe they do anything other than be a choking hazard to small babies.

I know that link says necklaces, but anklets and bracelets pose the same risks.

Eminybob · 14/03/2019 21:27

No they don’t work.

No. Why would they? If you had toothache would you put a bracelet on?

glitterfairyxx · 14/03/2019 21:31

@babysharkah because so many people have said they do🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I was just looking for opinions

@glitterfairyxx that's my opinion! 🤷‍♀️ 🤷‍♀️

3boysandabump · 14/03/2019 21:41

No they're just a choking risk

alwaystired24seven · 14/03/2019 21:43

Waiting for someone to say if it's on the ankle how can they choke?🥴

boosterrooster · 14/03/2019 22:32

Everyone swears by them. I tried the ankle one but it kept falling off. We had a variety of teething aids...matchstick monkey and other soother type things, stick them in the fridge to keep them cool and lather with teething gel...worked for us. Tommie tippee do a really good one that they can really bite into. Try those if you're looking for something safe

Choking hazard

RayaJambalaya · 15/03/2019 12:13

It's a placebo for the parent. You may put it on and think it's worked but teething doesn't consistently bother the baby anyway. And then that may trick you into thinking when the baby cries again it's cause they're tired or one of the many other reasons babies cry. You'll think "it can't possibly be the teeth cause the teething necklace worked when I put it on!" Whereas it may well be the teeth. And it would have just been chance and probability that the teething jewellery 'worked' initially.

RayaJambalaya · 15/03/2019 12:15

Also the 'science' behind it says that when the Amber heats it releases something to sooth the pain. But the human body can't and doesn't actually reach that temperature. Ever.

Redrupunzle · 15/03/2019 13:41

I like them. DD1 didn't have one and suffered a bit with teething and she was super drooly. DD2 has one and while she still gets pain she never drools like dd1 did. I'm sure it's just a coincidence but I think it helps
