Waking 8 week old to feed?

My DS is 8 weeks and is ebf. He is just above the 50% percentile and has always gained weight well. Since about 3 weeks old he has eaten every three hours except over night where it has been longer. Now he seem like he isn’t interested after three hours and can go a bit longer between feeds, however I’m conscious of him not sleeping for too long through the day. How do I know when to wake him for a feed/preventing sleeping through feeds.

I wouldnt bother waking at this age unless he's ill or unusually sleepy for some reason. A healthy baby will wake when hungry.

Once they’re gaining weight well I was told you didn’t need to wake them to feed
