DD only just gone to sleep from being awake at 9am, I'm definitely doing something wrong! What can I do to get her to sleep before this time!?

@Nutmeg5 that sounds good but if she goes to sleep at 12 tonight or 11 even tho I get her to sleep and she unsettles again then goes sleep again and I get her up at 6:30 or 6 will that be enough for sleep for her?

Not sure if it'll work but what if you woke her an hour earlier than normal for a few days then gradually get earlier each day? Say by 15 minuets. I'm no expert so might be a terrible idea. Only problem is that with less sleep she'll be grumpy but will it be worth it in the long run when she gets in the routine of earlier bed time/wake up and naps. Like I said don't no if this is good advise so sorry if it's a bad idea.

@Nutmeg5 it's definitely good advice ! I'll admit she had a routine but when she had her
Last immunisations it just went out the window

My boys routine did too after his last vaccinations but then he gradually got back to his usual self.

Good luck Flowers

@Nutmeg5 well dd is still up and desperate to nap but she's had naps today and only needs one more bottle before bed and I know if she naps before she'll be late again

Nutmeg5 · 15/03/2019 05:33

Hopefully you've had a better night last night OP, did she go down any earlier?

flumpybear · 15/03/2019 05:59

Mine were up at 6am most days. Two naps, never beyond about 4pm. Dinner, bath, pyjamas, dim lights, stories, milk, bed .... that was about 7pm

Saying that I prefer early nights and early mornings so worked for me

My DD is just coming up to 8 months, her routine is:

6am - Awake
7am - Bottle
8am - Breakfast
9am - Nap (one hour-ish)
11.30/12 - Lunch
1-2pm - Nap (one-two hour's if I'm lucky)
4pm - Tea
6pm - Bedtime routine starts
6.45 - Bottle
7pm - Bedtime - she's asleep within minutes
10pm - Dreamfeed
2-3am - Wakes for bottle

You definitely need to bring everything forward by several hours, it will be tough for the first couple of days but maybe get her up at 7, Nap at 10 & 3 and then bedtime at 7? DD dropped the 3rd Nap about a month ago, which she would have at 4pm.

SoyDora · 15/03/2019 06:36

At 8 months mine had a routine which looked like this...
Up at 7am.
Breakfast
Nap at 9.30am (40 mins)
Lunch at 12
Nap at 12.30 (1-2 hours)
Dinner at 5pm
Bed at 7 (start bedtime routine at around 6.15).

You don’t necessarily need a 7-7 routine, that’s just what worked for us. You can decide what works for you and try to implement it.
