Bath at night before bed. We shower in the mornings and have done since dd was able to sit in the bath unaided. Need to start introducing evening showers now she's off to school though, there's no way I will have time in the mornings.

Agree with you on the food thing edam.
I try not to give dd infantile food - because I would end up eating it myself - I have an immature palate

mmmm fish fingers

I'm with cod re bathing every night, every other night is plenty for delicate skin - just keep the nappy area really clean (but do that anyway, of course!)

Clothes too - I tend to have ds rewear "yesterdays" clothes, unless they are filthy when playing at home and in the garden and change him into clean if we are going out to a friends house or similar.

OK television

We don't restrict the amount of TV the kids watch

Ah, now I loved the 'sodding' routine. We would change it if needed (if going out/on hols etc) but otherwise great because everyone knew what was going on/going to happen. Marvellous stuff

art classes for babies.
get the finger paints out at home, invite your friends and their babies round, and crack open a bottle of wine instead!

Yes cod - needed a routine when dd was tiny - would have gone stark staring mad without. But it's nice to kick it to the kerb and realise we are a bit more relaxed now

Blimey MMJ, that is extreme. I'm bad at tripping myself which is why I was so fussy about stairgates. Once ripped my chin open and still have the scar.

Agree re mucky clothes, if not too bad will wipe and wear again.

Sunblock - now ds is nearly four, just put lotion on if we are going to be outside for ages and even then only on tops of ears, back of neck, nose, etc. etc.

ds

  1. Slept on his tummy
  2. Was taught proper words (None of this pussy cat/bummy rabbit malarky)
  3. We use the word 'no' to him
  4. We left him to cry when it was bedtime (Sleeps like a dream and has done from an early age)
  5. I stopped b/f because I found it too much like a 'milking cow' (big boo hiss for me there then)

I am such a bbbaaaaadddd parent

we didn't do the stairgate thing either, our staircase was far too wide. ds just learned to go up & down on his bum, never fell once.
