Best sling from birth [edited by MNHQ]

Any suggestions? I’ve heard people say a stretchy wrap is best from birth but I’d love a specific recommendation or two and any tips on how to learn how to tie them.

We had a Hanna wrap. There's loads of videos on YouTube. I'd recommend a sling library if there is a local one to you as they were really helpful showing me how to get my LO positioned correctly.

I used a close caboo for both of mine in the early months. They were both preemies and it was one of the few I found that they could go in from a low weight (around 5lbs). When they got bigger I moved on to a Rose and Rebellion carrier.
Worth checking if there’s a sling library near you though, then you’ll be able to try on different styles to see what works for you.

Thank you both, really helpful! Hadn’t even thought of youtube.

Did you start using them right from birth?

Will definitely see about a sling library too.

Stretchy wraps are good but I prefer woven wraps as they’re sturdier and can be used right up til they’re toddlers. My go-to brand is Didymos but there’s loads out there. I also liked my hoppediz hop-tye (this was the one I used most when baby was a newborn) and my Bebe-Sachi which is a similar shape to the hop-tye (Mei tai style)

And I first used my hoppediz hop-tye when baby was a day old although he was 9lb so not small!

Think he was 2 weeks old, he would have been over 9lb by them. There's usually a minimum weight.
