Weaning - what routines do people have?

I've stared weaning and finding it confusing when to feed the puree and when to feed the milk. Do we do the wean feed inbetween a bottle, eg give half a bottle, feed carrot purée then give the rest of the bottle. Or are you meant to give the bottle first, wait an hour and give the purée?

I'm currently on two feeds, doing breakfast and dinner feed. I do want to go onto do BLW and don't know when to start introducing the solid food..

Would be great to hear what others are doing as am totally confused!! And there isn't much help out there from HVs!

Thank you

Anyone got any recipes for fruit flapjacks or muffins suitable for baby led weaning? I made some from a blog which went down a treat but just wondering if anyone can share any tried/tested/favourite recipes! Smile

Mine is now 9 months but has had this routine since 7 months on 3 meals a day
7am Bottle
8am Breakfast - weetabix, egg, fruit, avocado, toast
9am - 1hr nap
11am bottle
Midday- lunch (pasta, beans, veg sticks, pitta, hummus, omlette, tuna, chicken strips... whatever really)
1pm/1.30pm - 1.5 or 2hr nap
3pm/3.30pm - bottle
5pm - dinner, same foods as lunch
6.30pm - bottle
7pm - bed

I started at 6months with purees once a day after the 11 feed (was bfing then). Gave 1 boob, then food, then other boob. Did that for 2 weeks then started mashing with a fork so the texture was a bit thicker. Then moved on to soft finger foods - avo, banana, broccoli, carrot, raspberries and blueberries halved, toast is a good one as they suck it and it goes soggy. Then after 2 weeks of those and mashes I then moved onto finger foods pretty much full time with some spoon feeding of wet foods like lentil curry etc.

I was extremely anxious about finger foods and had to really force myself to be calm and not freak out at first. Occasionally I went upstairs while my husband supervised DD as I couldn't bear to watch her gag. Slowly as she got better at eating I managed to get over it. It took practice from us both

Thanks so much for these!

Nowandthenforever, how much milk are you giving on the bottle feeds?
I'm just trying to work out how much to give on each bottle too

She has 4 bottles of between 5 and 7 oz. Around 22 to 26 oz a day 😊
