Baby grabbed hot chip

It was really hot. Cried for a min but was distracted by bing and has been fine since.

Can’t see red mark on fingers but he is only 7 months so very small hands!!

Ran under water for a few mins, do you think it was just shock that made him cry or should I be taking this more seriously?

And breathe!!

If there's no red mark, he'll be fine - probably was just the shock, poor little thing.

Are you doing BLW with him, out of interest? Sounds like he'd love it!

CountessVonBoobs · 06/03/2019 21:48

I wouldn't worry. Unless it was heated to combustion levels, it's not going to give him more than a very superficial burn. You would know if it were still bothering him.

Babies get burned on hot food sometimes. Mine shoved his hands directly into a hot plate of rice a few months back and wailed his head off for a few minutes. He was fine. Don't worry.

Jamhandprints · 06/03/2019 21:48

Its ok. He's fine. :-)

If there are no obvious red marks or blisters then it's unlikely the chip has done damage. Rub a little moisturizer into his tiny hand if you are worried. He might enjoy that anyway Grin

mogtheexcellent · 06/03/2019 21:50

When my dd was 10 months she stole a chip off DHs plate. It had cayenne pepper sprinkled on it. She vomited them drooled for hours but was fine. I was a sniveling mess though.

As to your baby. keep an eye on it in case of a blister but no red mark suggests it's all ok.

allwalkedout · 06/03/2019 21:51

He will be fine.
It’s a horrible feeling when things like this happen. Don’t panic x

BlueMerchant · 06/03/2019 21:52

If he is settled, being his usual self and no red mark he will be fine.

allwalkedout · 06/03/2019 21:53

Oh and my ds grabbed my hot hair straighteners and blistered her little hands.i was a mess...he, on the other hand, was fine in about 30mins. He’s 2 now and no marks or scars.

allwalkedout · 06/03/2019 21:53

His

PhalangeReginaPhalange · 06/03/2019 21:57

God you lot are brilliant!

Yeah BLW and he wants everything!

Wow cayenne! Wonder if they will get a taste for spicy food!

I’m terrified of him getting my straighteners I feel like you blink and they are everywhere and in everything

I burned my face on DMs tongs as a baby and still have a very visible scar. I haven't straightened my hair since DD started rolling. But the chip won't have done any harm.

NTitled · 06/03/2019 22:02

Really, honestly, don't worry. If you end up with more DC, you won't even notice them grab a hot chip. And if you have lots, you'll barely even notice if their arm drops off in the process. Grin

PhalangeReginaPhalange · 06/03/2019 22:03

I don’t blame you that must have hurt like hell. I stood on curling tongs and still have a scar my foot looks like bacon blergh

My Ds (now 11) also burnt his fingers on my straighteners when he was a toddler 🙈

lovely36 · 06/03/2019 23:10

A hot chip? Lol he'll live. 😂

PhalangeReginaPhalange · 06/03/2019 23:54
