Feeding - intro to cow's milk

Hi.

My daughter is 11 months...She's 1 in mid March. Just wondering if anyone introduced cow's milk any earlier than 12 months?? We were advised by our HV and GP to begin weaning her onto solids at 5 and a half months so considering introducing cow's milk around now?!?!

We did it a couple of weeks before my son's first birthday as the formula ran out and I didn't think it was worth buying another box when I could switch him at 12 months. A couple of weeks won't make much of a difference really (and if it helps my son had no problems at all transitioning to it).

You could start the transition. Maybe give the odd drink alongside formula/ breastmilk (You didn't say which you were giving)

I'm breastfeeding, but we were also giving her formula before bed each night but we also ran out of formula recently and really didn't want to buy another tin...a tin lasts a full month cause we don't give her much.

Thanks for the advice, just wasn't sure about introducing it early but my husband doesn't see any issues. Glad to hear other people are doing it too.

Liefster would you warm it up at first to help the transition or just give it cold?

I started at 11 months. We need to warm it a bit as otherwise she is fussy.

Her bottle in the day is in a different cup so she has that cold so she starts to get used to it.

Just switched her over as she seemed quite happy, didn't need to mix or anything with the formula

I used to give half formula and half cows milk at first. Then went down to just heated cows milk. She took to it no bother.
